High School Scholarship Program
This is a one-year, non-renewable grant.
ELIGIBILITY
A student is eligible to apply for a Georgia PTA Scholarship if he/she:
- Current Georgia resident.
- Is a graduating senior of a Georgia high school with a PTA/PTSA that is in good standing (i.e., dues paid, approved bylaws on file).
- Student AND parent/guardian is a current member of student’s PTA/PTSA . A copy of both membership cards must be provided.
- Will attend a college, university, post-secondary institution or trade/vocational school during the upcoming school year.
- Has exhibited good character.
- Has a satisfactory scholastic record. Grade point 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Has not received a full scholarship(s).
- Submit an essay (Answer the question: Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? Discuss your goals, field of study, reasons for seeking this scholarship, along with what PTA/PTSA means to you and your level of participation. Be sure to include any extenuating circumstances which might contribute to your consideration).
- Proof of your PTA membership
- Describe what the PTA/PTSA means to you and your involvement in your school’s PTA/PTSA.
- Copy of transcript.
- Student profile resume.
- Two completed reference letters, written specifically for this application.
When mailing your application packet, please assemble packet in the following order: application, letters of recommendation, essay, transcript, and copy of membership cards.

Applications, reference forms and all supporting documents must be received in the Georgia State PTA office by Friday, March 6, 2020.
Date of Notification
The scholarship recipients will be notified by U.S. Mail and/or e-mail by May 1, 2020. Scholarship winners will have until June 1, 2020 to accept the award. After July 1, 2020, the scholarship will be revoked.
Post Award Requirements
- The award recipient must provide proof of registration and enrollment as a full-time undergraduate student in a post-secondary university (public or private), fine arts school, community college, or Vo-Tech for the 2020-2021 year.
- The awarded recipient must provide proof of their Social Security Number.
