Raymond Lee Smith named Executive Director to Team

 ATLANTA, Ga., (May 23, 2022) - Georgia PTA is welcoming Raymond Lee Smith, MBA, M.Ed, to become a member of our Georgia PTA family. Smith has been named the association's new executive director. Smith brings more than 15 years of experience leading nonprofits and associations, having most recently served as the president and CEO of the Raymond Lee Smith Consulting.

"Raymond is an exceptional and strategic executive with expertise in education and advocacy as well as a passion for ensuring that all children have the opportunity to reach their full potential," said Dawn Stastny, president of Georgia PTA. "We are proud to name Raymond our new executive director. His leadership, passion and expertise will be tremendous assets to Georgia PTA and our members, partners and sponsors as we work together to support and take action for children and families across the State of Georgia."


Smith holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) in Nonprofit Leadership, from Walden University and a Masters in Education (M.Ed) with a focus on training and Performance Improvement from Capella University . He earned his Bachelors in Public Administration from Barry University in Miami, Florida.

"I am very pleased and excited to be joining Georgia PTA," said Smith. "Georgia PTA's leadership is needed more than ever to ensure that all students have access to a high-quality education. I whole-heartedly embrace the association's rich history and mission, and I look forward to working with the membership, local PTAs, Board of Directors and staff."

Smith will join Georgia PTA in May 2022, just prior to the association's 2022 Annual Convention and Leadership Training, which will be held June 10-11, 2022 at the Columbus Convention and Trade Center in Columbus, Ga.
