ATLANTA, Ga., (May 23, 2022) - Georgia PTA is welcoming Raymond Lee Smith, MBA, M.Ed, to become a member of our Georgia PTA family. Smith has been named the association's new executive director. Smith brings more than 15 years of experience leading nonprofits and associations, having most recently served as the president and CEO of the Raymond Lee Smith Consulting.
ATLANTA, Ga., (May 20, 2022) — Georgia PTA is currently aware that there are allegations that the South Gwinnett High School PTSA Vice President and Candidate for the Gwinnett County School Board District 4 used her position as the PTSA President inappropriately leading to a possible violation of the Internal Revenue Code along with State Campaign Ethics laws. Under the Internal Revenue Code (IRC), all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office.

On behalf of the 2021-2023 Georgia PTA Board of Directors, I would like to personally invite you to attend our 108th Annual Convention and Leadership Training (CLT) on June 10-11, 2022. We will be offering a true hybrid CLT – having both virtual and in-person options. All training will be offered virtually, and the business of the Association will be conducted both in person in Columbus, Georgia and virtually.Since our founding, PTA has been the conscience of the country when it comes to issues that affect children and youth. Georgia PTA believes students should have an honest and fair understanding of how our nation's history has unfolded, and we encourage and support the implementation of diverse and inclusive curricula.
Greetings, PTA Leaders & Members, wow, it's already April. I'm happy that warm weather has finally arrived and everything is starting to green up and bloom. Many of you have already held your elections for next year's officers and are starting to wrap up this year. While we hope you work for a successful transition, there is still work to be done this year.
